When Challenges Appear by Gail Gupton

Somewhere in the writings of Joel Goldsmith is a statement that refers to his teaching only ONE truth. Sorry, I don't have a concordance so I can't quote it, but he states his whole message is founded on the one truth of "I and my Father are one." That's it. That was the profound message he constantly reiterated; and he said it in many different ways.

Years ago I caught that message and put down the books. When a human challenge looks me in the face, remembering that statement, embedded in my consciousness and meditated upon, brings me back to reality. "I and my Father" (God) are one and the same. There is no 'Gail' except that my human parents gave me a label which separated me from other children. I have the ability to change my name and it will never change the 'I' of me.

How wonderful to know such a profound truth as this; and to be able to apply it in my daily life.

Jesus gave us many words to meditate on; many examples to study and gain from. His whole mission was to reveal 'God and man are one' to the human race. Without a human father (as the Bible story goes), Jesus was the materialization or public demonstration of life being God. True life is spirit. Real life is spirit; soul.

How odd that the human race, after over 2000 years, has not been able to identify themselves with this spiritual being and continues to struggle as though separate from God.

God is ALL. Just think about that statement. God is ALL. Omnipotent means ALL power. Where does this leave an opposite except in our thought process or our conditioned beliefs?

I know I've mentioned this before, but years ago my mother would say to me, "Who told you so?" when I felt bad. "Did God?"

And, of course, my answer was always, "No, God did not tell me I'm sick". So, who DID tell me? My false belief. My conditioned mind. My body.

Over the years, meditation revealed my body and mind are God governed and can only manifest perfection when I raise my consciousness away from the physical and to the divine, recognizing God as my very life and the substance of all form. ALL form.

Can we separate ourselves from God? The answer to that is with another question, "Can we block out the sun with blinds?" Yes. And, when we do, we often find ourselves struggling in the dark, often fearful, or asleep.

Peace comes from understanding. "My peace I give unto you (not as the world giveth)." Jesus gave us a new understanding. Joel Goldsmith (to his students) gave an understanding. From that understanding cometh peace. What a wonderful gift in the face of challenges.

All is well.
