| BREAKING THROUGH THE ILLUSION, by Gail Gupton |
|
I was driving home late one night from a friend's house recently when I encountered a fog bank. It was thick and I couldn't see beyond it. I knew there was a creek nearby. The fog had obviously collected there and was snaking into my path. Do I stop and wait for it to move? Do I stop and try to remove it myself? Of course not. I knew better than to believe ridiculous suggestions. Although one occasionally has visions of temporary obstacles, wisdom reveals the truth of the situation. There are many seeming obstacles in life; health, money, education, family. Some may call them challenges. Some may call them 'poor luck'. But no matter the name or label placed upon it, it always remains the same universal and perpetual suggestion of a separation apart from God. Health: Is God ever less than perfect? Is God (who, by the way, is the being of yourself), ever diseased or deformed or abnormal? Ask yourself those questions about God. God is perfection and mankind is the manifestation of God and His perfection. God is being life, which includes humankind. As Jesus stated, "I and my Father are One" and "I can of mine own self do nothing". These are statements of Truth for all mankind to those who can recognize the message. Trying to 'fix' something outside of God's perfection only states the fact one has not yet awakened to their true identity. First of all, one cannot fix anything because one does not humanly have the Power necessary to make repairs. Second of all, if it's perfect in the first place, there is nothing to repair except one's concept or belief that something needs repair or 'healing'. Even in the face of seeming injury or accident, God is being the band-aid and the surgeon. Money: Is God ever broke? Is God (who, by the way, is the being of yourself), ever without ALL? Ask yourself those questions about God. God is omnipresent, meaning in all places at all times, and that includes one's pocketbook, wallet, and bank account. Actually, in Truth, God IS the bank account. The Bible states, "The earth is (IS) the Lord's and the fullness therein". This is a fact and facts never change, but are often distorted. The fullness spoken about is the bank account (since God is ALL). Think of it as the manifestation of Principle. The principle about supply is that it always exists, always has, and always will. Nature doesn't toil, yet mankind believes he has to due to a false sense of separation. Supply and demand create balance, therefore whatever God demands, God also supplies, for God is being both. This is one of the hardest lessons to learn and may take serious contemplation. Even in the face of seeming unemployment, God is being the employer and the employed. Education: Is God ever without knowledge and wisdom? Is God (who, by the way, is the being of yourself) ever in need of books and schooling? Ask yourself those questions about God. God is divine intelligence and God is being all the answers, for they come from within. When one recognizes an answer to his or her question, it's because it was there all along, only not yet revealed. Books are reminders of what one already knows. Books are the inspiration one may need to be reminded, but the book only reveals the truth once the contents are understood. Would you continue to pick up and review a first grade arithmetic book? Of course not, unless you felt you never understood it in the first place. Many famous philosophers had no formal education. Their wisdom was discovered within themselves and they revealed it to the world in the form of books, letters, documents, poetry, prose, music, art. Even in the face of seeming ignorance, God is being the student and the teacher. Family: Is God ever without communication and completion? Is God (who, by the way, is the being of yourself) ever in need of love and acceptance? Ask yourself those questions about God. It is not God who needs our love, as religious people may proclaim. God is already complete and whole. God needs nothing. God is fulfillment. If that includes having a family, or getting along with family, then God is being the family, locally and universally. An acquaintance of mine was told by a 'family member' that her child needed counseling due to hearing about a popular disorder that's been in the news over the last few years which affects children and their behavior. The only thing the child needs is recognition of God being the child. Even in the face of seeming turmoil and argument, God is being the family, individually and collectively. Opinions about health, money, education and family are a dime a dozen. Scores of articles and pamphlets have been written on the topics over the generations, all with a different theory. In the mid-20th century, Dr. Spock was the supposed authority on child rearing. Then most of the mothers threw the book away in favor of something 'new'. In recent years, the stores have been full of income schemes for those with the belief of God's distance or favoritism, and the belief they have to labor on their own. Corporate board rooms insist that a college degree is mandatory to have enough intelligence to do the necessary work. News reports and magazine articles hammer into our heads the need for medication to cover up bodily symptoms which gives us other symptoms in the name of side-effects. And so, one unconsciously jumps on the band wagon or merry-go-round without ever realizing they are God being LIFE, health, income, intelligence, fulfillment. It already IS. Illusions? Once one realizes obstacles or seeming challenges are nothing but illusions, one can walk (or drive as in the fog incident) right through it. All is well. |
