ONLY ONE GOD! by Gail Gupton

My happiest moments come when I can tell people about God who is within them. So many people feel God resides outside of their lives and they struggle in vain to bring God to them, to find God, as though God were lost.

For generations, people have perpetuated the belief that God has opposition in the power department. What is this so-called 'evil' or 'Satan' except another name for God when God 'fails' to meet the expectation of mankind? After all, if an activity is not perceived by mankind to be good, it must be from 'Satan'. Yet, in faith, or misunderstanding, or ignorance, we may say, "It was God's will that this evil befell us".

There cannot be two powers or God would not be the Almighty God we sub-consciously proclaim.

An awareness of God's omnipotence needs deep contemplation and then perpetuation to the next generation of children and grandchildren. There is no curse on mankind. There is no sin except in our ignorance of God's omnipotence. This will be argued among religious aspects of belief, but the Truth cannot be changed and argument is only an unconscious attempt to mask one's ignorance of Truth.

Like those who would convincingly argue a mathematical formula to be correct, only to discover later they had the wrong answer all along, one must humble himself or herself and excuse our ignorances (sins). It's not our fault. This is how false human programming creates a malfunction, much like computer technology and the familiar saying, 'Garbage in, garbage out". This is how the human mind has been programmed since the beginning of time and for which Jesus came to eliminate. There can only be one God. There is only one power. That's what Omnipotence means. That's what Almighty God means . . .One and only One. . . spiritual Truth is what the human mind needs, not the vast beliefs of a worldly and fearful society.

Which now brings me to the point of God being within each of us . . . As life. . . As love . . . As activity . . . As wisdom . . . As spirit and soul. Just about every day I get mail from people wanting to know where to find God. They feel empty and alone and despaired. Or perhaps they know, intellectually, that God is within them but can't feel God's presence due to human situations. Perhaps they believe they inherited bad genes and excuse their imperfections as such. What do they do?

Do nothing. Just BE. But BE the presence of God, do not look for God. God is not there where you're looking. God cannot be found in books or churches or teachings. God cannot be found EXCEPT in realization. To some, this is just a reminder. To others, this may be what you need to come to some understanding that God is within you, AS your very being.

Now then, take it one step further. God is perfect. Where does that leave you? How does that leave you? Contemplate Truth. Meditate on nothing but the Truth of God's allness and omnipotence. Jesus said God is within you. Look deep. Then look deeper. The well of Truth is there and it's infinite. Look deeper, still. Keep going. When, at long last, you pull up the invisible cup from the well, it will contain the living water for which you thirst.

No, it's not easy. We get distracted. But just remember, distraction is only our programming, and there's only one Truth, only one God. God is here. God is there, right where you are . . within you, around you, above you, beneath you! The ground upon which you stand is holy.

All is well.
