| THE SON OF GOD, by Gail Gupton |
| "I would like
to know if you believe in Jesus coming here to pay for the sin problem, as he says no man
has the Father except if they believe He is the Son of God." This was the question asked by one of you. My answer lies in the content of this newsletter, the second part first and the first part second. Of course, one cannot be the son of anyone without recognizing one's relationship with the parent. Likewise, one cannot be the Son of God without recognizing one's relationship with God. Once a person becomes aware in the realization of this Truth that Jesus tried to impart, he then becomes a son of God. Jesus KNEW who he was. He knew God was his Father. Do we? Does mankind believe in God as the Father? Father of whom? THINK, my friend. Is mankind really that ignorant as to believe God did not create all life? Or that God is not Life, itself? Yes. It is a matter of interpretation that has been lost over the ages. People take the Bible literally, without ever examining the spiritual content and the Message of Jesus, as the Christ. "I am come that ye might have life and have it more abundantly." (The Bible). His MESSAGE will give one a more abundant life once they realize what the message is and come to embody it, as did Jesus himself. Jesus said a lot of things according to Scripture. We must look beyond the mere words to decipher the real meaning. As most advanced spiritual seekers have discovered, the "I" of which Jesus spoke was not the physical, personality of the man called Jesus. It is God who is "I" - the "I Am" as Moses put it. Jesus specifically states (according to the written Word) that "I and my Father are one". When a person KNOWS he is the son of God, then he has the Father, and a relationship with the Father. So, we have to identify the "He" which was asked in the above question. Is He me or you or is He one person long ago and written about by inspired men of the times? "He" is anyone who identifies himself with the Father - God. When one prays, "Our Father who art in heaven . . . (who is within me, since the kingdom of heaven is within)" they are not praying to the father of Jesus alone. OUR Father, Jesus said. I have said it before and I'll keep saying it, people have been missing the message and worshiping the messenger. Religions have made an idol of a man when the Bible specifically denounces idolatry. Jesus embodied the Christ, the Spirit of God, within him. He was perfect because he knew he was perfect and because he knew he was perfect, he was perfect. He recognized his sonship, whereas the generations that followed have not and do not. We have left it in the pages of history and have become ignorant idolaters in the largest sense of the word. Jesus came to eliminate sin religion tells us. The only sin that ever existed, has ever existed, and exists today is ignorance. Therefore, Jesus came to eliminate ignorance of our relationship with God, our Oneness with God, our infinite source as being God, and mankind has failed to learn the lesson. It is the Truth within the message of Jesus that sets us free. Spiritual Knowledge - knowing spiritual truth, knowing our true identity, knowing the true nature of God. Without the only sin that exists, without ignorance, the world and everything in it would be one and would be perfect. In ignorance of one's relationship to God, one suffers (allows it to be so). Without ignorance (the only real sin), the world and those in it would be the perfect embodiment of Christ. This was Jesus. Not only did he preach the Truth, he lived the Truth as the ultimate example. In short, the answer to the beginning question is this: "Jesus came to free man from his ignorance of God, and with man's new spiritual awareness, that person becomes a Son of God and a "joint heir with Christ". All is well. |
