I MET SOMEONE LAST NIGHT . . . , by Gail Gupton

I assisted a videographer friend at a video shoot of a seminar in a local church. It seems the church had prayed about helping jobless people in the community and started a bi-monthly meeting where those in need of a job could come and discuss their résumés and abilities with others in the same fields. The speaker’s topic and the theme of the seminar was networking with other people. He emphasized that we all have gold in our veins, only to be discovered and realized.

At the close of the event my videographer friend and I struck up a conversation with a woman who said she had been a member of the church for over twenty years but who had always been timid around other people. However, when talking with us, she lit up and within her eyes I detected light and inspiration.

Sometimes one simply needs permission to be what God is. God is within and God is the light that opens the crack in the door that seems to be stuck in human consciousness. God guides us with this apparent light and leads us to where we are supposed to go for complete fulfillment. Bear in mind, God IS the fulfillment.

There are so many people stuck in a dead-end job or in the throes of unemployment. Many years ago, my late husband, Bob, recalled to me an event he experienced around the age of twenty. He was just starting out in life and desired a sales job in a local shoe store. They told him he was too young and they would only hire him if he was twenty-one years of age.

A few months later, he walked into the same shoe store and said, “I’ve come to start my new job.” The management was bewildered. Of course, they didn't remember the previous conversation and they had no idea what he was talking about.

Bob said, “You told me to come back when I was twenty-one. Well, I’m twenty-one now and I’m ready to go to work”. While the manager was scratching his head at the audacity of this young man, Bob started waiting on customers as though he already had the job. The manager was so impressed with his realization of Bob's dedication and motivation, he hired Bob on the spot. So, in the realization that Bob was, indeed, a good shoe salesman, his eyes were opened. Moral of story: We already ARE what we're supposed to be. In this case, Bob already was a shoe salesman and simply manifested it to the person seemingly in charge and the manager already was his employer, before the actual event took place.

This goes way beyond psychological motivation and inspirational self-help so prevalent in today’s bookstores, however. Here, I’m emphasizing spiritual knowledge. God is being the great I AM. God is the I AM of you and of me and of the Master Jesus, the Enlightened Buddha and the Prophet Mohammed; and of your neighbor across the street or across the globe, plus your intended employer, if you need one. God is the life and wholeness of individual being – animal, mineral, and vegetable. And, in the Being is fulfillment (being filled with security, joy, contentment, satisfaction).

Everyone is God being life. Everyone already IS fulfillment. With the realization that we have within us everything that God IS, we bring perfection into manifestation. You do. I do. We all do. Again, it is in the REALIZATION. Without spiritual knowledge of God's Being, we are simply 'human' beings attempting to live a life separate and apart from God. How can we ever experience God without the realization of God's Infinite Being?

The light shining forth from the woman at the seminar is evidence that God is within, living His life as us. With the contemplation and understanding of this truth, she will be able to bring the Truth into existence as proof. She is now looking into starting her own business instead of working for someone else. Fulfillment is God manifested. On the human level, this is ultimate security.

All is well.
