ON EARTH, AS IT IS IN HEAVEN, by Gail Gupton
The human world is likened unto a camera; what the lens sees is the opposite of 'reality'. The image in the camera or in the lens of the eye is reflected back to correct the picture. If this were not so every photograph would be reversed. Hair would be parted on the wrong side, doorways that are on the left would be shown on the right just as though seen through a mirror..

Given this example one can clearly see our world is made up of opposites, but when rightfully understood these seemingly opposite effects can be righted. A number of years ago a startling revelation came to me that made me realize how unconsciously we accept the opposite of something as being the truth.

I sat down and wrote my interpretation of the Lord's Prayer. All my life, prior to then, I had a mental vision of heaven being 'up there' and earth being 'down here' as learned from a small child and the way society depicts heaven. After I had discovered the kingdom of heaven is within me, it suddenly dawned on me that I had been interpreting the Lord's Prayer all wrong. My new awareness showed me the Truth of the prayer was the complete opposite of the words I had been meaninglessly repeating all those years.

'Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name' suddenly meant 'Our Father who art within me, holy is the name "I"'. After all, if the kingdom of heaven is within, then so is the Father. And if God's name is 'I AM', then 'I' is holy. This put a whole new light on my own being. I realized 'I am' holy. Wow. AM, not will be.

Consequently earth became 'out there', not the other way around. Heaven within is peaceful and perfect. So the prayer became one of knowing earth should be like the kingdom of heaven, and is so when properly seen from a spiritual viewpoint. Always before, I prayed that earth 'down here' would be like the heaven I envisioned 'up there'.

Keep in mind, however, that true prayer is knowing the truth about God, not petitioning God to change the outer appearance or to give us our heart's desires. It is listening to the inner guidance which is God within and then beholding the correct vision.

The outer realm reflects the inner revelations. Jesus often spoke to his disciples of the fruit of the vine which is the manifestation of the inner being. Just like the printed photograph is the revelation of the camera's inner workings, without the proper applied principle the photograph would come out backwards.

The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, scripture reminds us. God is right here and in all God's completeness and wholeness, the earth is perfect and complete with all abundance, as it is in heaven (within).

The visible forms are all part of 'earth'. God manifests Itself as visible life forms whether that form be a mountain, a river, a sunset, a pasture, an orchard, a rock, a flower, an animal, an insect, a person. The list could go on and on to infinity. These are all the outward appearances that come from the Invisible life.

Understanding the nature of God and as God being all things at all times, one comes to the conclusion that all is perfect because God is perfection. Only the unenlightened thought brings forth imperfection due to simple ignorance.

Spiritual awareness brings outer fruition. Signs follow spiritual enlightenment.

All is well.
