| SPEAKING OUT, by Gail Gupton |
| A number of years ago, my
(now late) husband,
Bob, and I saw a movie where the main character had to call out a name for an
action to take effect. At that time, it reminded me of some healing testimonials I had
read years before, where different people called out for the Truth to be known. Of course,
we know that the Truth is heard in the still small voice, which often thunders
in the silence within. But saying something out loud often solidifies the
context, and in the case of the healings I read about, they did occur, else it would not
have been published. Many times we hear others, or even hear ourselves, blundering out some negative in relation to our human environment or circumstance. It seems to make the situation more real. But the opposite is also effective. This happened to me recently when an event I had planned fell through. In the confines of solitude, however, a realization that I had gone against a spiritual principle stood out to me like a blazing sun. I called the person involved and spoke out verbally, and in Truth, explaining that I had violated a principle and it was not another third-party person who had "erred". Then, my spiritual contemplations led me to listen to a tape of Joel Goldsmith. In the listening it dawned on me that he, too, was saying a meditation out loud. It was not just received by those hearing it, but it was received by himself, as he spoke. "Speaking out loud" causes one to remember more so than simply silently reading words or keeping thoughts and ideas to themselves. Why do preachers preach? Many years ago I read the whole book, Thunder of Silence, out loud and onto cassette tapes. I did this, not to transcribe the book, but rather to listen to my "self" and it made a huge difference in understanding the message in the book. When God speaks to us, from within, God is speaking out loud to us. We hear His voice. You have heard it. I have heard it. Many people visiting Beyond Prayer and Meditation have commented that they have heard a voice speak to them so audibly that it shook their insides. God speaks to us out
loud, but we often don't hear because we have "closed our ears" to receiving the
Truth. Does a bird keep his song within? Does the bird sing to benefit us? Or, does the
bird sing because it can and because not singing would be a violation of its
being? |
